highly motivated to develop business-acumen and client relationship skills
I created this section to share personal details about my life that would otherwise be missed from just reading my resume.
I would like to let you in on my hobbies, values, and how I've spent my time during quarantine.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been one of the most unprecedented and impactful events of my lifetime. Because my family lives in a major outbreak zone (NYC/LI), I found it necessary to move back into my parents house and help them. Using my background as an epidemiologist, I took the role of educating my entire family on safe quarantine practices, the proper use of masks, and translating the scientific news. Being able to use my public health education to directly benefit my family has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
While the pandemic influenced our family financialy-since my father could not run his food-truck business-we are grateful that no deaths have occurred within our family.
The quarantine period gave me an oppurtunity to spend quality time with my family and develop new skills for my professional career. Since I have been continuously studying and working in academia for the last nine years, I am grateful to have used this time to slow down and reflect on myself. Through reading The McKinsey Way, I have developed a strong interest in the quick-paced, team-oriented, problem-solving focused field of consulting.
